Mini Synopsis: Lessons from Robin
After nearly three years of dating, John Davidson dumps Francesca Aubry, convinced that her fascination with life overseas is incompatible with his emerging career as a prominent advocate and scholar in the African American community. Devastated, Francesca takes months to come to terms with the loss of her first love. Just as she begins to show signs of recovery by embracing the passions she once abandoned, a tragedy occurs. Now, John needs Francesca more than ever and both parties find themselves struggling to cope with decisions from their past.
Lessons from Robin is a heartbreaking novel about a relationship that forces its members to understand the most fundamental aspects their identities before they can fully commit to one another. It tells a story to which anyone who has ever been in love—or even infatuated—can relate in the richly diverse settings of Washington, D.C., New York and Miami. With a touch of politics and a dash of humor, this is the perfect selection for a smart person looking for an enjoyable read.
Sounds amazing, Monica — can’t wait to read it!
Thanks Chi!! I can’t wait to finish it! 🙂
Good luck with your book! I’m in the same boat… It’s quite the journey, isn’t it?
Thank you!! Yes, it is. Definitely has its ups and downs, but I’m really enjoying the experience. How far along are you?
Any chance you’ll be publishing soon or have an online/kindle version? It sounds like a good story.
Hi!! I’m so glad to hear you say that! Publishing “soon” eh…probably not. I’ve pitched a couple of agents, but then decided to revise a bit again. Once I’m done with that, I’ll go back to pitching and if the traditional route doesn’t work out, then I’ll definitely self publish!! If that happens, you’ll be sure to hear about it on this blog!!
Sounds promising to me! Good luck and more power!
Thank you!!
Sounds promising to me, Monica. Good luck! Can’t wait to see it at my fave bookstore.
Me either! Haha thank you so much!! I’m actually going to update this page this week I think
